A Perfect Traditional Japanese Shinto Wedding

Testimonials

We had a fantastic wedding. The organization was excellent and the day went flawlessly. The Wakon style staff were very helpful, friendly and easy to communicate with. We would both really recommend using this company if you want to have a Japanese style wedding in Japan, especially if you are foreigners. Our coordinator Etsu also speaks great English so no need to worry if you can’t speak Japanese!

Other testimonials

I was quite nervous about having a shrine ceremony as I'd never actually seen one before, but the staff were absolutely wonderful, and spent time practicing the different steps with us so we knew what to expect! Due to the pandemic our friends and family were unable to attend, but the staff live streamed the ceremony over zoom for us which allowed people to share the moment with us. It was an amazing experience being able to participate in my husband's culture, and the kimono was absolutely gorgeous, even if it was extremely heavy!
We are very grateful to the staff for all their help and expertise, and would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a ceremony or photo shoot experience in Japan.

Having a traditional Japanese wedding in Kyoto was something I was dreaming of, but not being in japan physically I wasn’t sure how realistic that idea was. Well that idea has come alive in real life thanks to Inoue san and her team! I had the most beautiful wedding at A beautiful shrine in Kyoto with the backdrop of the colour changing leaves. It was not possible without your help: thank you so much!! I’ve chosen the kimono to wear and the package was reasonable too when compared to other agencies. I would love to do another one for our tenth anniversary. Thank you once again for your friendly and professional work!!

Cheers :)

Since I was young, I have always been fascinated by Japanese culture, and the Shinto-style ceremony has always been a dream of mine. Fortunately, my partner also loves Japanese culture. So our consensus was to have a Shinto-style ceremony, and we found you online. We are very fortunate to have found Etsuko , from choosing the plan, the costumes, and Etsuko's thoughtful service. Even though the language barrier made communication a bit difficult, Etuko was patient in explaining everything to us and coordinating everything. She even traveled to Kyoto to help us as a translator, which was unexpected but greatly appreciated. The process of the ceremony went very smoothly, and my husband and I are very grateful. We highly recommend foreign couples who are interested in having a Shinto-style ceremony to choose Wakon Style services. We believe that they will not be disappointed.

My wife and I had an excellent experience working with Wakon Style Weddings in planning our Japanese-style wedding. I am able to speak very little Japanese, but the wedding coordinator, Etsu-san, was able to explain the ceremony process, as well as translate any Japanese written or verbal instructions, to us in English. All of the staff were extremely knowledgeable of Japan, from its beautiful locations and shrines to its sophisticated culture, and were very patient when working with us to understand and appreciate Japan. The photographer was nothing short of amazing. She took some of the best pictures I have ever seen and was extremely energetic, which helped us stay excited through the entire day. Finally, at the end of the day, when the staff found out that we needed to walk a long way to the nearest bus station, the staff went above and beyond to find someone willing to drive us all the way to the station so that we would not have to walk in the rain. The ceremony was an amazing experience, and my wife and I are deeply grateful to Japan and to Wakon Style for helping us create memories that we hope to share with our kids someday.

The staffs were really professional. Although we were not good at Japanese, they had staffs who spoke fluent English. They also helped me to liaise with the other parties which didn't have Engish-speaking staffs.
